After around 20 years organising School’s events in Hampshire, I have decided that I can no longer continue. It has been a difficult decision, as I’ve very much enjoyed every event.

However, there have been changes in ESSA which have meant the job has become more difficult for me and in addition I have found it very difficult to get help. Apart from a very small band of dedicated people, and usually sufficient help on the actual days, the mass of the organisation has fallen on my shoulders.

I am hoping that perhaps somebody will come forward to share the load - perhaps one person or a small group for each of the 3 events, Secondary Teams, Primary Teams and Hampshire Schools Championships. I will, of course help anyone who is prepared to take responsibility - or leave it to them, as they wish!

But for school year 17/18, only the Primary Relays is planned (see below).

For Secondary Relays this autumn, I suggest schools that are very keen to take part contact local County organisations to see if they can join their events. Details can be found on http://www.southeastschoolswimming.org.uk/diary.html

For the present, I will continue as HSSA Secretary, to allow the Association to continue – unless there is somebody out there who would be prepared to take the role!!!
